A hit dog will holler

Share

C alling someone “a hit dog” started at the end of the nineteenth century, sometime around the 1880s.

From the site, linguaholic. com, comes this explanation of it’s derivative: “The Washington Post asserted that the first one to use the proverb, ‘a hit dog will holler,’ was Samuel Porter Jones, who was a lawyer-turned pastor and preacher.

“As a matter of fact, Jones was known to use a larger version of the proverb, which said, ‘throw a stone into a crowd of dogs, and the hit dog will holler.’

Hence, this is where the idea of’ ‘a hit dog’ comes from. It’s the dog that got hit by the stone. And once you understand this context, it becomes even clearer where the expression derives its meaning.

“’Throw a stone’” can be interpreted as making an accusation or saying an inflammatory statement.

“And the ‘hit dog’ will be the one who feels that the accusation was directed at them or that the inflammatory statement was meant for them, both of which can be considered signs of a guilty conscience.”

This explains a lot in the context of what has been happening right now in Washington, D.C. by some politicians and career Deep-Staters in government – who are in the news on video or on the internet – howling about Elon Musk and his DOGE team uncovering the ‘Honey Pot’ of money that they have desperately been trying to keep hidden from the view of the public taxpayers for years and years.

Only, now we have found their treasure chest … their trove of corrupt goodies … and it was all in the heart of the belly of government, curated over the last 50 years, guarded by corrupt unelected officials – serving as useful tools – with the collusion of elected leftists.

And now the Hit Dogs are hollering!

Their guilt at trying to shield the agency known as USAID, as well as many other grab-bags of loot in various departments for use in Marxist/LGBTQ and globalist/propaganda causes – even to the extent of funding our enemies – is manifesting itself, as their intense hatred and baseless name-calling against the Trump administration shows – as they have been dragged into the sunlight, kicking and screaming – their sins for all to see.

There is not enough time nor room to elucidate the evils they have committed – under such umbrellas as the Clinton, Obama and Biden terms of office.

So, I’ll just take one example: USAID.

And there is none better than our national treasure, Senator John Kennedy of Louisiana, to address this topic. Speaking on ‘X,’ here is some of what he said on Elon Music and DOGE exposing USAID: “I’ll tell you what Mr. Musk discovered. I find it fascinating,” Kennedy said.

He discovered:

■ ■

The American taxpayers are giving money to Afghanistan

■ ■ He found that we are giving money to Yemen

■ ■ He found that we are giving money to Syria

■ ■

He found that the USAID has 10,000 people employees, and every year they give away $40 billion

■ ■

He found that the USAID gave money to support electric vehicles in Vietnam. Our money, taxpayer money

■ ■

He found that the USAID gave money to a transgender clinic in India. “I didn’t know that. I bet you the American people didn’t know that”

■ ■

He found that USAID gave $1.5 million to a Serbian LGBTQ group, they got $1.5 million to QUOTE, “advanced diversity, equity, inclusion in Serbia’s workplaces and business communities”

■ ■

They found that USAID spent $164 million to support radical organizations around the world

■ ■

They gave $122 million of that to groups aligned with foreign terrorist organizations

■ ■

According to this report in Mr. Musk, the USAID has given millions of dollars to quote organizations in Gaza controlled by Hamas

■ ■

He found that we gave $2 million, USAID did, for sex changes in Guatemala

■ ■

He found that we gave $20 million to produce a new Sesame Street show in Iraq

■ ■

He found that we gave $4.5 million of taxpayer money to combat misinformation in Kazakhstan

■ ■

He found that we gave $10 million, USAID did, of meals to an al-Qaeda-linked terrorist group called the Nusra Front

■ ■

Mr. Musk found that we gave $7.9 million of taxpayer money to a project that would teach Sri Lankan journalists to avoid binary gendered language. (The USAID took 8 million bucks and gave it to a bunch of journalists in Sri Lanka to teach them how to avoid binary gendered language)

■ ■

USAID gave $1.5 million to promote LGBT advocacy in Jamaica

■ ■

They gave $1.5 million to rebuild the Cuban media ecosystem

■ ■

They gave $1.5 million for quote, art for inclusion of people with disabilities in Belarus

■ ■ Another $3.9 million for LGBT causes in Macedonia

■ ■

$8.3 million for equity and inclusion education in Nepal “I could go all night and many of my colleagues are upset. They’re really mad at Mr. Musk. Hell, I think we ought to give him a medal” And those are JUST the international giveaways. Now for the internal slushfunds for n’er-do-well causes here in the states: How about this? The DOGE subcommittee Chair Rep. MTG is summoning NPR and PBS to testify as to why their ‘systemically biased news coverage’ should be funded by taxpayers.

Politico is unable to make payroll amid USAID shut down. Seems that their outlet was experiencing a ‘mysterious drop in revenue’ since the disclosures of illicit payments.

Politico came out later, claiming a ‘technical error’ on the payroll mishap.

Only, here’s what Elon Musk said about it on ‘X:’ “Many media outlets are going to experience a mysterious drop in revenue.”

My, oh my! Seems the ‘gravy train’ has gone off the rails, doesn’t it?

Oh, and recall the bitter- tongued Bishop Mariann Budde, who famously criticized Trump during an inaugural prayer service about treatment of illegals?

Well … my how the worm has turned, as they say.

She has been found to have pocketed a staggering $53 million in taxpayer funds through her organization, Episcopal Migration Ministries (EMM).

From the New York Post: “Since EMM’s ability to lobby is restricted, the Episcopal Church itself, being a separate legal entity from EMM, lobbies in D.C. for more programs that benefit EMM.

“EMM brings in LGBTQ refugees and asylees in a special federal refugee program started during the Obama administration called ‘Preferred Communities.’” And it doesn’t end there.

Oh, no … it goes on, and on, and on … From the Gateway Pundit: “The Columbia Journalism Review on Tuesday released a report on the importance of USAID’s donations to approved journalists at home and abroad.

“According to CJR, USAID spent $268 million to fund over 6,000 approved journalists. Obviously, these were the leftwing variety of journalist who did not question COVID, elections, climate change, DEI policies, etc.

At present, there are two intrepid reporters out there, following up this trail of corruption by the Deep State very closely: Michael Shellenberger and Mike Benz. If you are interested in the latest happenings with this developing story, you may want to do a search for their work on the internet.

Or, you can turn on your television and listen to the ‘Hit Dogs’ hollering?

Your choice.
