Crittenden County man found dead in Jonesboro
Gilmore native died from apparent gunshot wound, police investigation underway

An investigation into the death of a Crittenden County man whose body was found outside of a Jonesboro apartment building Friday was still ongoing Monday. No arrests have been reported, Sally Smith, public information specialist for the Jonesboro Police Department, said.
Police responded to a report of an unresponsive person at 111 Daybreak Drive shortly after 10 p.m.
Police said they believe Derrick Johnson, 24, of Gilmore, died from an apparent gunshot wound. Police released an incident report Monday afternoon, but with few details.
Eight witnesses were identified, but their names weren’t released. The report also indicates two suspects in the shooting, but their names weren’t disclosed.
A vehicle was seized at the scene, according to the report. It was described as a four-door pearlescent wrapped Dodge Shelby.
The owner of the car, which had Tennessee license tags, also wasn’t disclosed.
