Here we go again…

Or, should I say, “Make America Great Again… Again” here? If you’ve followed my column throughout the election season, you probably know I’m not a Trump fan. But I’m apparently in the minority, at least when it comes to Trump vs. Kamala Harris, as the former president is now the future president following Trump’s decisive win in the Nov. 5 election.
Trump won every state he was expected to win, and unless some late-changing occurrences take place he swept the swing states, as well as the popular vote, so clearly Trump was the people’s choice this time around. He’s also going to be working with a very Trump-friendly Congress and Supreme Court, so whatever he’s got planned, it’s probably going to go through.
And you know what? That’s fine with me. Even as a “yellow dog” Democrat, Biden and company did very little over the

past two years to excite the voter base. I say two years, because the first two years of Biden’s term were by and large a success, combatting the coronavirus and rebuilding the job market and economy. He did not handle the subsequent inflation issue well at all and basically was running a past-its-expirationdate campaign of “Hey, I’m not Trump” before the Democrats finally pulled the plug on his re-election bid.
Knowing what we know now, the party might as well have run with Biden. Harris now has the “loser tag” that might prevent her from ever being a presidential candidate in the future. But I guess it didn’t keep Trump from winning this year.
But just like in 2017, I hope Trump does well because we are all in the same boat, and if he sinks, he could take us all down with him.
In any event, America got what it voted for, so let’s hope for the best. And if you just can’t take it, remember… in four years he can’t run again.
