FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Second- ranked Arkansas (30-3, 11-1 SEC) finished off its weekend series win against Missouri (11-20, 0-12 SEC) with a seven-inning doubleheader sweep Sunday at Baum-Walker Stadium, completing its third straight SEC series sweep by a combined score of 51-9 to record its highest-scoring weekend in SEC play in program history.
A day after winning Saturday’s series opener by a score of 21-3 in seven innings, the Hogs defeated the Tigers in both games of Sunday’s series- concluding doubleheader with a 14-4 win followed by a 16-2 win in seven innings.
The Razorbacks’ 51-run weekend in only 18 innings of at-bats against Missouri topped its 50-run weekend in 27 innings of at-bats during a series win at South Carolina in 1997. Arkansas’ 50-run weekend against South Carolina in 1997 in Columbia, S.C., included a 30-7 win in the series finale, its most runs against an SEC opponent in program history.
Arkansas, winners of 12 of its last 14 games against the Tigers since 2017, has now won five consecutive weekend series against Missouri.
At 30-3 overall and 11-1 in SEC play, the Razorbacks have matched their best 33game overall start to a season in program history (also 30-3 in 2024), and their best 12game SEC start since 1992 (11-1) and 2024 (11-1).
With their series win against the Tigers, the Razorbacks have started SEC play with four consecutive series wins for the fourth time since joining the conference ahead of the 1992 season, also accomplishing the feat in 2009, 2021 and 2024. Arkansas also clinched its 12th straight SEC home weekend series in a streak dating back to the start of the 2023 season.
