Crittenden county is well known for its Italian community. But many do not know the complete story of the Italians who settled here. That history will be told right here in Marion on Palm Sunday April 13 at LuAnn’s Italian Kitchen, 200 E. Old Military Rd., at 2 p.m.

Dr. Anthony and Gina Borgognoni, the executive directors of the Italians of Sunnyside Foundation will provide an exciting presentation that will surprise and captivate all who are interested in this remarkable history.

Anthony remarked, “My mother, Libby Olivi Borgognoni, recently published Italians of Sunnyside 2nd Edition, which tells of the trials and triumphs of the many Italian families who are all connected to American’s _rst Italian Colony established at Sunnyside (Lake Village, Arkansas). This colony at Sunnyside, was the catalyst event from which sprung many more Italian settlements including Crittenden County.”

The 45-minute presentation will reveal many unknown details of Crittenden County’s Italian heritage. Light appetizers and refreshments will be served.
