The West Memphis Animal Shelter, in partnership with MARS of Crittenden County, is making pet sterilization more affordable for local pet owners. A low-cost spay and neuter clinic is set to take place from March 11-13 at the West Memphis Animal Shelter,’ offering residents an opportunity to help control the pet population and ensure their furry friends live healthier lives.
Spaying and neutering pets is one of the most effective ways to reduce the number of homeless animals in shelters. The event’s organizers emphasize that sterilization isn’t just about preventing litters; it’s about being a responsible pet owner.
For those unable to attend in March, additional clinics will be held in Marked Tree from April 15-17 and in Marion from May 13-15. Pet owners interested in scheduling an appointment must complete an application and

submit full payment before securing a spot. There are limiited spaces available for dogs over 65 pounds, so early registration is encouraged.
The program also requires that all pets receive a rabies vaccination unless owners can provide of_cial documentation showing they are up to date.. Pain medication is mandatory for female dogs and recommended for males to ensure a more comfortable recovery.
To sign up for the clinic, visit https://mars2023 .square.site or call 501-2668243 for more information. Spaces are limited, so pet owners are encouraged to schedule their appointments as soon as possible.
