West Memphis singer hopes to be next ‘American Soul Star’
Ca’Miyia Bush set for finale in Atlanta-based singing competition

West Memphis has produced its share of musical talents over the years, from Shirley Brown to Sonny Boy Williams to Wayne Jackson toYebba.
Now, another aspiring singer is looking to leave her mark on the music industry. Academies of West Memphis student Ca’Miyiah Bush is getting a chance to showcase her talents on the national level.
Bush is a Top 10 _nalist on the singing competition “American Soul Star” this season, with the _nale set for this weekend.
“American Soul Star” is a music competition show for singers created by Michael D. Harper in Atlanta, Georgia. Harper owns Avant-Garde Entertainment, Inc., a music management, and independent record label entity. that strives to provide opportunities for emerging artists to build their brands by assisting in developing, marketing, and distributing their music and providing the resources and guidance they need to reach their full potential. Through shows such as “American Soul Star, “ the goal is to bring people together in harmony and fellowship to enrich lives through music.

For the past several weeks, Bush and her fellow competitors have battled their way through several rounds of competition and it all comes to a head this Saturday, March 1, beginning at 5 p.m. Carisha The Diva will be the host with the most, and the trio of celebrity judges, Zaytoven, Danie B and Jhonnie Blaze, will crown a winner.
“American Soul Star” is a modern-era program, airing across multiple streaming platforms, includint YouTube, Instagram and TikTok, with a strong following on Facebook, where fans can vote on their favorite Top 10 finalist.
