Arkansas Delta Byways to host 23rd annual awards banquet

The 23rd annual Arkansas Delta Byways Awards Banquet will be held Jan. 31, in Stuttgart. This event is held each year to recognize those with outstanding tourism achievements across the 15county region in the Mississippi Delta region.
A banquet will be held at Grand Prairie Center. The presentation of the awards will follow dinner.
Arkansas Delta Byways, based on the Arkansas State University campus, is a nonprofit organization recognized by the Arkansas Department of Parks and Tourism as the official tourism promotion association for 15 counties in Eastern Arkansas. Counties are Arkansas, Chicot, Clay, Craighead, Crittenden, Cross, Desha, Drew, Greene, Lee, Mississippi, Monroe, Phillips, Poinsett and St. Francis.
Among this year’s nominees is the Esperanza Bonanza Festival. The carnival and cooking competition, held annually in Marion, is nominated for the Cultural Heritage Award. This year’s other niminees in the category include: • Delta Cultural Center’s “Save King Biscuit” Escape Room in Phillips County
• Johnny Cash Statue Unveiling National Statuary Hall Steering Committee in Mississippi County The other 2024 Delta Byways Award categories and nominees are as follows:

• Jonesboro A& P Commission in Craighead County
• Lakewood Trail System in Drew County
• Rotary Club of Stuttgart in Arkansas County
Festival/Event of the Year
• Get Downtown Festival in Greene County
• Trick or Treat at Village Creek in Cross County
• The Tri-County Fair in Lee, Monroe and Phillips Counties
Boot Strap Award
• Chicot Coffee and Cafe in Chicot County
• McGehee Pocket Park in Desha County
• Watler Morris Jr. in Phillips County.
