Blue Devils focused ahead of 5A play
West Memphis boys open up conference play Jan. 9 against Marion

The West Memphis Blue Devils may have been a little reluctant to take a long holiday break after Coach Marcus Brown’s squad won three of their last four games of 2024.
The Devils (8-5 on the season) beat Osceola 69-42, walloped Collierville 79-54, and even flirted with triple digits as they dropped Kirby 95-78. Their lone loss during that stretch was a tough loss to a tough Morrilton squad, losing 62-55 on Dec. 27 before the winter hiatus kicked in.
Now the Devils hope to get back on the winning track in 2025 as they hit the always competitive 5A East portion of the schedule. West Memphis is facing a tough assignment right off the bat this Thursday night, as they welcome the Marion Patriots to Lehr Arena.
There will be a full slate of games beginning at 4:30 p.m., on Thursday. These games were originally scheduled for Friday, but AAA bumped them up due to the threat of winter weather, with the Lady Devils seeing action at approximately 6 p.m., with the boys’ game to follow, approximately 7:30 p.m.
The West Memphis Blue Devils went 3-1 to close out December and will be geared up to return to action this Friday night as they welcome the Marion Patriots to Lehr Arena for a hometown hardcourt conference clash.
