Spead some Christmas cheer — and win some holiday spending cash!

The holiday season is upon us, and this year, The Evening Times and The West Memphis A& P Commission is making it even brighter with an exciting Christmas decoration contest that gives residents the chance to win some extra cash for the holidays. Local homeowners are encouraged to go all out in decking their homes in dazzling lights, festive décor, and pure Christmas spirit – and in return, the organizers are offering a total of $7,500 in cash prizes to reward their efforts.

To make things fair, the contest will select winners from each of the city’s five wards.

In every ward, a first-place winner will receive $1,000, and a second-place winner will take home $500 – meaning that there are ten chances to win across the city. Each ward will be judged independently, so residents are only competing with their local neighbors for the title of “prettiest house.”

Entries will be judged purely on aesthetic beauty, lights, and decorations – so the more creative and festive, the better! If your home lights up the neighborhood, you might be one of the lucky winners taking home a cash prize, just in time to add a little extra joy to your holiday shopping.

Entering the contest is simple: just pick up a registration form from City Hall or download one online. Be sure to return the form by December 9th, which is also the deadline for having your home fully decorated for judging. Participation is free, but entries are limited, so residents are encouraged to register early to secure a spot.

Dust off those decorations and start planning your display!

Let’s make this Christmas season one to remember with beautiful lights, festive cheer, and maybe a little extra cash in your pocket. Happy decorating!
