Battery, assault lands West Memphis man behind bars again

On Nov. 5, a West Memphis man named Randy Medlock was arrested — or was it Randy Madlock?
Take your pick, as Medlock has been arrested dozens of times (under both names) for a wide array of charges.
In this latest episode, the 54year-old was able to turn a traffic violation into a laundry list of felonies.
Medlock, 54, was arrested and charged with:
• Felony 1st-Degree Battery
• Aggravated Assault
• Failure to Appear in Circuit Court
• Having an open container of alcohol in a vehicle
• Disorderly Conduct
• 3rd Degree Assault with the Apprehension of Imminent Injury
• Reckless Driving
• No proof of liability insurance • 2nd Degree Criminal Mischief (purposely tampers or destroys)
• Theft by receiving
• Fleeing
• Resisting Arrest (refusal to submit to arrest/uses force)
• Failure to signal
• Fictitious license plates
• Possession of a Schedule VI Controlled Substance. (4 ounces or less) Records show Medlock’s criminal history goes back to at least 2004, with drug, weapons, burglary, assault and other convictions over that time span. At the time of his arrest, he had a warrant out for his arrest on a Failure to Appear charge from a previous Theft and Fleeing case back in August On Nov. 13, Medlock, defending himself, pled not guilty in West Memphis District Court to the slate of charges.
He is scheduled to return to court on Jan. 6, 2025. He is currently incarcerated in the Crittenden County Jail on various bonds totaling nearly $65,000.
