Last farmers market of season undeterred by rain
Residents still show for last event of the season

Despite the rainy weather, residents from Marion, West Memphis, and surrounding areas came out in full force to attend the _nal event of the season at the Crittenden County Farmers Market on Sept. 14. The market, which has been in operation since June 2024, is a project supported by the Cooperative Extension Service’s Arkansas High Obesity Prevention program and local sponsors.
At the event, attendees had the opportunity to participate in a seed swap and a touch-a-truck event, featuring vehicles such as a tow truck, race car, _retruck, dump truck, semi-truck, and tractor. Unfortunately, the free yoga lesson that was scheduled to take place had to be cancelled due to the rain.
Vendors at the market included a variety of local businesses offering products such as fresh owers, canned goods, sourdough bread, handmade crafts, dog treats, cookies, freezedried candies, and more. The market, located at the

Crittenden County Courthouse Square in Marion, Arkansas, was open from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
One of the sponsors of the event, Cliff Carter’s Body Shop, provided several vehicles for the touch-a-truck event, giving families the chance to see these vehicles up close. The market also featured vendors such as the Flower Girls, Huskey Family Homestead, Better Off Bread, Sensous Aroma, and many more.
Never ones to miss out, the Thornes are fixtures of any Marion event.
