WEST MEMPHIS – Southland Casino Hotel on June 26 presented a $20,593 check to The Boys & Girls Clubs of Crittenden County, a nonprofit organization that each year provides programs and activities for over 1,000 boys and girls in Crittenden County, Arkansas.

The campaign, which ran from March 1 to May 31, will benefit four Boys & Girls Clubs locations in West Memphis: Boys & Girls Club of Crittenden County, J.W. Rich Girls Club, Wonder City Boys & Girls Club and L.R. Jackson Girls Club.

The campaign is part of Southland parent company Delaware North’s “Game Changer” initiative at several of the hospitality and entertainment company’s gaming properties, with the goal of having a positive impact on those local communities. The program involves casino guests dropping off and gifting the change remaining from slot vouchers at wishing wells on the casino floor.

“We are very happy to provide this funding to all four of Crittenden County’s Boys and Girls Clubs at this critical time,” said Osi Imomoh, president and general manager of Southland Casino Hotel. “We thank our patrons for their generosity, and Southland is dedicated to continuing to support these vital programs for our youth in West Memphis and throughout the county.”

Since September 2020, Southland has raised $472,000 for more than 20 community organizations.

“We all serve the youth in the community in different capacities and locations, but none of us could exist without the other,” said Darin McCollum, executive director of the Boys & Girls Club of Crittenden County. “Southland has always been at the heartbeat of what we do with their financial support and volunteerism, and we appreciate it all.”

The Game Changer initiative is designed to function throughout the year, with multiple local charities benefitting at each casino location, including at Southland Casino Hotel. Other Delaware North gaming locations participating are Mardi Gras Casino & Resort (Nitro, W.Va.); and Wheeling Island Hotel-Casino (Wheeling, W.Va.).
