AGFC wildlife officers investigating deer wanton waste case in Crittenden County

Four carcasses found on Masner Road

www.agfc.com WEST MEMPHIS – Wildlife officers with the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission are investigating a case involving the wasting of edible portions of four deer carcasses found in Crittenden County.

The carcasses were found on Masner Road between Interstate 40 and U.S.

Highway 70.

Officers were first contacted about the dead deer on Feb. 9. They found four carcasses in a ditch along the road. The two button bucks and two doe all had the tenderloins removed along with the hams from the button bucks.

All the deer appeared to have been shot with a rifle. Wanton waste of a game animal carries a fine up to $2,500.
