Working the system: Welfare as we know it

We’re sure many of you reading this may have seen it pass across your e-mail, but we thought it was appropriate enough to reprint for no other reason than to make us laugh at how our country’s socialistic mentality is way out of control.

Let’s take a guy and his girlfriend with two kids and show how they can take full advantage of a seriously flawed government subsidy.

Here are the steps they take:

• They don’t get married.

• The guy always, always uses his mother’s address to get his mail.

• The guy goes out and buys a house.

• Then, the guy rents out the house to his girlfriend with his two kids.

• Section 8 (an abused government subsidy) will pay this girlfriend $900 a month for a three-bedroom home.

• The girlfriend then goes out and signs up for Obamacare. She gets free medical care for herself and for their two children.

• The girlfriend wastes no time in applying for and receiving that EBT card (food stamps) and gets $600 more in free government money.

• Oh, the girlfriend needs a cell phone so she receives a free one.

• The girlfriend also applies and receives subsidies to help pay for her utilities at the house her boyfriend rents to her.

• The boyfriend moves into his house to live with his girlfriend but still uses his mom’s address for all his mail.

• The girlfriend claims one kid and the boyfriend claims the other kid on their tax forms. Now both get to claim head of household at an $1,800 credit each.

• The girlfriend gets another $1,800 a month disability for being “crazy” or having a “bad back” and never has to work again.

Let’s make it clear that this plan to scam us, the taxpayers, goes on every day and is perfectly legal.

Now then, let’s move on to a married couple with a stay-at-home mom that yields ZERO dollars.

So then, an unmarried couple with stay-at-home mom nets $21,600 disability, plus $10,800 free housing, plus $6,000 free Obamacare, plus $6,000 free food using the EBT card, plus $4,800 free utilities, plus $6,000 Pell grant money to spend, plus $12,000 a year in college tuition free from Pell grant, plus $8,800 tax benefit for being a single mother equals $75,000 a year in benefits. Any idea why the county is $18 TRILLION plus in debt and half the population is sitting around letting the other half pay their way?

While we’re sure there will be the liberal critics among us who will argue the point but, the fact of the matter is that this country is reaching a boiling point.

Take Arkansas for example, every legislative session lawmakers scramble for more tax dollars to subsidize its overburdened government hand-out policies that are managed by the state’s largest agency, the billion dollar plus Department of Human Services that employs over 7,000 people.

And, always keep in mind that among the nearly 3 million Arkansans nearly 300,000 of them are dependent upon Medicaid and government subsidies.

A message to those politicians who gravitate toward the idea of additional taxation as the cure all to this growing social issue is that they are digging a hole they simply won’t be able to crawl out of, and the dwindling number of working class taxpayers are getting fed up with their tax and spend philosophy.
