Fennell is third ASU Mid- South signee
In a signing ceremony on the campus of ASU Mid-South, the Lady Greyhounds picked up Marquesha Fennell, a 5'10' guard from Overton High School in Memphis, to an NJCAA Letter of Intent and Scholarship Agreement for the 2016-17 season.
Fennell was a key figure in the Lady Wolverines success as 16-AAA Tournament Champions after upsetting the #1 ranked Memphis Central Lady Warriors. The Lady Wolverines finished second in district play with a 10-2 record and were ranked as high as #15 in the state before taking the first two games of the Region 8 Tournament before ending their season in Sectionals (Sub-State) to finish with a 20-4 record.
'Marquesha gives us a long guard who can score and play defense,' said Lady Greyhound head coach Sonja Tate. 'And best of all, she wants to play. She's hungry.'
When asked why she chose ASU Mid-South, Fennell replied immediatey: 'I feel at home.'
Fennell becomes the third signee this spring for the Lady Greyhounds, joining Krystalyne Miles (6'0' forward from Pine Bluff, Arkansas) and Alesha Penister (5'9' guard from England, Arkansas).
