Last weekend, the word of the day on East Broadway was “mudbugs,” as in crawfish, with the “Mudbugs on Broadway” event.
Today at lunchtime, though it’ll be an event of a decidedly more musical variety, when “Blues on Broadway” makes its return.
The big event is a part of National Tourism Week and the month long Arkansas Heritage Month.
“The community is invited to this free event,” said Main Street Executive Director Deborah Abernathy.
“We’ll have free hotdogs and drinks from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Regions Park, next to the bank on East Broadway.”
And of course, it wouldn’t be “Blues on Broadway” without some blues. Area musician Mike Dragges will be on hand to provide a little lunchtime entertainment.
“Blues on Broadway” is sponsored by Regions Bank and Delta Ice.
Main Street West Memphis is an ongoing revitalization effort by the City of West Memphis, centered around the city’s historical retail and business district on East Broadway. Main Street holds events throughout the year to highlight the community’s local businesses, heritage and history.
