Perhaps we should adopt a few ‘Buffett’ rules
We occasionally enjoy riling our leftist critics when we have the opportunity to point out how the political elite on both sides of the isle have been successful in manipulating the system to their advantage.
During this unusual voter uprising and the obvious dissatisfaction with the status quo during this long and drawn out controversial presidential race, allow us to make a few suggestions claiming to come from billionaire Warren Buffett, one of the world’s most influential people.
There is obviously a voter revolt going on as evident in the voter support of Republican “outsider” Donald Trump and Democrat socialist Bernie Sanders.
It is quite clear the American people are fed up with the so-called elitist establishment, the political manipulation, deceptiveness, rigged and corrupt politics.
Some of the suggestions being tossed around the social media include no politician serving us should be granted tenure and no pension. Those we elect to Congress receive a salary while in office and should not be paid when they’re out of office.
We should demand members of Congress, past, present and future, to participate in the Social Security just like the rest of us and demand all funds in the Congressional Retirement Fund to be moved into the Social Security System.
We should demand that those who serve us in Congress no longer vote themselves ridiculous pay raises and outrageous benefits, and these elected representatives should lose their current health carte system and participate in the same health care system as the rest of us. And, that includes all the political cronies leaching off the system.
This election cycle is definitely a wake up call to those politicians serving us, and that includes those elected representatives serving us on the state level as well.
It is clear the growing number of people are fed up with this elitist political establishment that has put itself in a special class. Let us make it clear, there are a number of concerned voters who don’t care for Trump but, the fact of the matter is that his popularity is the direct result of voter disenchantment.
While it is turning out to be a total surprise to still see Sanders as a viable Democratic contender to the “established” Clinton, it points out how dissatisfied even the Democratic voters are with the current political process.
It is bewildering to watch how this 75-year-old devout socialist who has virtually done nothing to make a name for himself prior to entering this race has been able to effectively compete with the well-organized and heavily-financed Clinton political machine.
These two “outsiders” represent total dissatisfaction with the current political state of affairs and politicians from the local and state level should seriously take note of how fed up the American people are with the status quo.
BIBLE VERSE
O my God, my soul is cast down within me: therefore will I remember thee from the land of Jordan, and of the Hermonites, from the hill Mizar. Deep calleth unto deep at the noise of thy waterspouts: all thy waves and thy billows are gone over me. Yet the Lord will command his lovingkindness in the daytime, and in the night his song shall be with me, and my prayer unto the God of my life. I will say unto God my rock, Why hast thou forgotten me? why go I mourning because of the oppression of the enemy? As with a sword in my bones, mine enemies reproach me; while they say daily unto me, Where is thy God? Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God.
