AWM ladies do well at Relays

Booker wins 3,200 Meters in boys division

WM School District The West Memphis girls track and field team turned in some impressive performances in the annual Blue Devil Relays Tuesday at Hamilton-Shultz Field.

First-place finishes came from Jakeisha Bowers in the 100 meters with a time of 12.83, Paris Perkins placed first in three events, including in the 200 meters with a time of 24.69, in the long jump with a distance of 17 feet and in the 400 meters with a time of 57.82, the 4×100-meter relay team with a time of 49.9, the 4×800-meter relay team with a time of 12:06.62, Nikki Higgs in the high jump with a height of five feet and Adara Russell in the shot put with a heave of 36-3.

Second-place finishes came from Bowers in the 400 meters with a time of 1:01.02, in the 4x400meter relay with a time of 4:29.44, Dadrianna Robinson in the 800 meters with a time of 2:44.83, Russell in the discus with a distance of 9211.50 and from Lynn Walker in the high jump with a height of 4-10.

Third-place finishes went to Robinson in the high jump with a height of 4-10, Moneshia Lockhart in the pole vault with a height of 6-3, Walker in the triple jump with a measure of 34-5 and from Barden in the shot put with a distance of 32-8.

In the boys division, West Memphis got one firstplace finish and that was from Santerris Booker in the 3,200 meters with a time of 11:12.12, easily outdistancing William Tinzie of Forrest City, who came in with a time of 11:18.10.

Blue Devil second-place finishes came from Zachary Dantzler in the 110-meter high hurdles with a time of 16.31 and from Booker in the 1,600 meters with a time of 4:50.28.

Third-place finishes came from the 4×800-meter relay team with a time of 3:53.63, Le'darius Scott in the 800 meters with a time of 2:21.25 and David McCoy in the discus with a throw of 125-1.
