Colton’s to host Relay for Life ‘Celebrity Server’ night
‘ Dine to Donate’ and support cancer research April 21
ralphhardin@gmail.com “Round up the posse and dine to donate!”
With an invitation like that, how could one resist the opportunity to head to Colton’s Steak House & Grill in Marion on Thursday, April 21? That’s when Relay for Life will be holding “Celebrity Serving” night at Colton’s, from 5 to 7 p.m.
All tips will be donated to the American Cancer Society’s Crittenden County Relay for Life.
The event, sponsored by Crye-Leike Realtors, will feature live music, great food and service from celebrity servers, some of Crittenden County’s leading citizens.
In addition to tips, Colton’s will donate 10 percent of all proceeds to the American Cancer Society, the primary sponsor of Relay for Life.
The Celebrity Server event is just one of a number of Relay for Life events leading up to this year’s Relay. Relay for Life is the premiere fundraiser for the American Cancer Society, bringing in $400 million nationwide. Local plans consist of a 6-hour nighttime team relay around the lake at Tilden Rodgers Park in June. Teams from community businesses, clubs, families, friends, churches, schools and service organizations are forming now.
During the relay, team members take turns circling the lake or engaging in fundraising at their group’s booth. This year’s theme is “Color Our World With Hope!”
Luminaries will light the path around the park. Donations for the luminaries start at $10. Organizers are urging groups to recruit and sign up teams. To honor or remember someone with a
luminary or to register your team, visit relayforlife.org/crittendenar online, or find them on Facebook.
