Flags at half-staff for Israel
O n October 7, 2023, Hamas terrorists invaded Israel, targeting defenseless families in their homes, killing 1,200 innocent Israelis, and taking 230 hostages, including children and babies.
This was the deadliest day for the Jewish people since the Holocaust, and in the year since, Israel has fought to bring the hostages home and eliminate the terrorists who orchestrated this attack.
This week, Iran launched a missile attack against Israel, emphasizing that this conflict is far from over. Alongside the ongoing attacks against Israel, there has been a shocking rise in antisemitism and Gov. Sarah Sanders
pro-Hamas protests in the United States. These activists deny Israel’s fundamental right to defend itself in this war between good and evil.
Israel is right, and the terrorists are wrong. Arkansas stands with Israel, prays for Israel, and supports Israel as they fight to defeat the terrorists and bring the hostages home.
Now, therefore I, Sarah Huckabee Sanders, acting under the authority vested in me as Governor of the State of Arkansas, do hereby order that the United States flag and the state flag of Arkansas be flown at half-staff throughout the State from sunrise to sunset on Monday, October 7, 2024, one year after the tragic attack, in memory of the lives lost in Israel.
Statement on Morgan Nick case
Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders released the following statement following today’s announcement by the Alma Police Department and Arkansas State Police on the Morgan Nick case: “Bryan and I are praying for Morgan’s family and the thousands of people who have been touched by this heartbreaking case. Thank you to the members of the Alma Police Department, the Arkansas State Police, and every law enforcement agency that brought light to this case through 29 years of unyielding effort. My deepest gratitude is for Colleen Nick, who mobilized her grief to create the Morgan Nick Foundation and help prevent other families from going through the same unimaginable tragedy.”
