ASU Mid- South basketball on a roll with victories against
asumidsouthsports.com The ASU Men’s Basketball team picked up a pair of important wins last week.
The Greyhounds coasted to a 99-62 win Monday against the Crowley’s Ridge College JV.
ASU Mid-South (15-6, #20 ranking) broke open the game midway through the first half as Garret Finley and Kamari Marrs combined for 36 points to give the Greyhounds a 4626 halftime lead. After the break, Christian White scored all 18 of his points to lead the charge as the Greyhounds coasted to the victory.
Finley led all scorers with 25 points to go with 5 rebounds, Marrs finished with 15 points and 5 boards, and Zach Byrd and Jalen Sasser both chipped in 10 points each.
Ike Moore knocked down 3 three-pointers for 9 points, Treay Jamison pulled down a game-high 8 rebounds to go with 4 points, and Caleb Henry and Jalen Lynn dished out a gamehigh 6 assists each.
The Greyhounds then turned their attention to Saturday’s Region 2 matchup with North Arkansas College (17-7) at The Dog House. The Greyhounds handed the Pioneers their only loss of 2019 as the Pioneers had won 11 of their last 12 games including wins at Region 2 rivals SAU Tech and National Park College. The Greyhounds were down 41-35 at the half, but a fourth-quarter surge gave ASU Mid-South late lead and the Greyhounds were able to hold on to complete the comeback for a hard-fought 80-75 win.
