Marion School District School Choice Announcement

www.msd3.org Marion School District participate in the Arkansas Public School Choice Act of 2015. The Act allows parents to apply for admission for their child to attend a school in any district beyond the one in which the parent resides. If a student desires to attend a school in a nonresident district, the student’s parents shall submit an application to the nonresident district.

The application must be on a form approved by the Arkansas Department of Education. The application must be postmarked no later than May 1 of the year in which the pupil would begin in the fall semester at the nonresident district.

The School Choice Act does not require a school district to add teachers, staff, or classrooms, or in any way to exceed the requirements and standards established by existing law. Any parents residing outside the Marion School District who desire to send their child to the Marion School District beginning with the 2019-2020 school year may obtain an application in the superintendent’s office located at 200 Manor Street. Applications do not have to be resubmitted for students currently attending Marion Schools under the School Choice Act. This notice is prepared in accordance with Arkansas Public School Choice Act 2015.
