• Good Neighbor Center and Memphis Food Bank Mobile Food Giveaway –

Is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 16 at Old St. Paul Church, 504 S. 8th St., West Memphis from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. Vouchers are available until Nov. 14.

• West Memphis Church of God, 311 W. Bond St., West Memphis – Annual Winter Festival Saturday, Nov. 17. Doors will open at 8 a.m. and continue until 3 p.m. This year there will be the famous bake sale, Sugar Plum Cafe and Country Store. Pictures with Santa from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. There will be a Reindeer Crossing and a silent auction and outdoor vendors.

• Docettes and Debutantes High Tea Family and Fashion Extravaganza – In celebration of 50 years the event will be Sunday, Nov. 18 at 3 p.m. at the LR Jackson Girls’ Club. All Docettes, debutantes and escorts have tickets available now. The cost is $10 per person. If you need tickets contact President Cynthia Cheatam at 901-230-4513.

Ministerial Fellowship –

Annual Thanksgiving Service 2018, ‘United in Thanks!’ Monday, Nov. 19, at 7 p.m. Hosted by First United Methodist Church, 215 N. Missouri St., West Memphis. We invite all Christian Churches to join us in an evening of praise and worship as we thank our God together! Speaker will be Andrew Kjorlaug, pastor at Marion Methodist Church. Offering will be used by the West Memphis/ Marion Ministerial Fellowship.

• Crittenden County NAACP Meeting – Monday, Nov. 19 at 6 p.m. Join us for a tour of the soon to open Baptist Memorial Hospital, hosted by Mr. Brian Welton, CEO. Meet us in front of the hospital’s entrance. The public is invited.

• Earle Community Thanksgiving Service –

Tuesday, Nov. 20 at the Earle Baptist Church at 6 p.m. Rev. Herbert Watson will be the guest speaker. A reception will follow.

• Marion Holiday Trash Pick-Up – Trash pickup for Marion will be the following Monday, Nov. 26 after Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 22. Christmas trash pickup will be Wednesday, Dec. 26 and Thursday, Dec. 27.

• Delta Artist’s Society Paintings on Exhibit – now through Saturday, Nov. 24 at the West Memphis Public Library, Oliver and Avalon.

• Crittenden County Museum Annual Open House – Nov. 25 from 1 to 3 p.m. in Earle. The Red Hat Muses will provide refreshments. Everyone is invited to attend.

• Academies of West Memphis Title 1 Meeting – Monday, Nov. 26 at 5 p.m. Public meeting will begin at 5:30 p.m. Both will be held in the library.

• City of Earle 2018 Christmas Parade – Saturday, Dec. 1 at 2 p.m. Everyone is welcome to participate with a float, marching group, driving unit, classic/antique car or emergency equipment. • Commodity Distribution Program – The Food Bank of Northeast Arkansas conducts four to five commodity food distributions annually at 20 different sites in 11 counties. Key Food Bank staff, with the help of several local volunteers, set up a oneday food panty at advertised locations throughout the year. Families or individuals are given this food free of charge, and eligibility is based on the household’s combined monthly income. • After School Meals Program – Wonder City, 412 S. 25th Street is providing a free at-risk after school program from 2:30 until 6 p.m. As an enhancement to our afterschool program, we will also participate in the CACFP (Child and Adult Care Food Program), which provides snacks and meals to all children ages 5-18, regardless of race, sex, or disability. American Legion Charity Bingo – Mondays at 7 p.m. at 150 Legion Rd. across from the speedway race track. If we have 35 people we will pay $100 per game. We will play old program. Early bird starts at 6:45. Call 870-735-8803 after 4 p.m.

• Families in Transition –

provides support groups for victims of domestic violence as well as teen dating violence. We also provide “Safe Dates” Adolescent Dating Abuse Prevention Curriculum to schools, youth groups and any organization focusing on youth ages 12 and up. All services are provided free of charge through State and Federal funding.

• G E M Academy – Inside The Word on the Move Tabernacle, 2703 E. Broadway, West Memphis – Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3 to 5 p.m. We offer education enrichment classes for children 1st to 3rd grade. • Child and Adult Care Food Program – The 15th Street Child Care Development Center is participating in the Child and Adult Food Program. Meals are provided at 130 South 14th Street in West Memphis. The program will provide breakfast, lunch and a p.m. snack, Monday-Friday.

• 15th Street Childcare Development Center –

Announced its sponsorship of the USDA Food Program. Meals will be available at no separate charge or at a reduced charge for National School Lunch Program and at no charge for Child and Adult Care Program.

• Charity Bingo – At the VFW on South Avalon Friday and Saturday early games at 6:30 p.m., regular bingo at 7:30 p.m. Food served at concession counter. $100 games, 4 jackpots and a winner take all. Free meal one Saturday of each month.
