Library News

The Horseshoe Lake Library received a handful of new books available to our readers this month. Our newest acquisitions include Jana DeLeon's Miss Fortune Mystery, 'Change of Fortune'; Jonathan Kellerman's Alex Delaware Novel, 'Night Moves'; Cameron Wright's novel 'The Rent Collector'; Louise Penny's best-seller 'Glass Houses'; Amy Bloom's novel 'White Houses'; Andrew Morton's biography of the Duchess of Windsor, 'Wallis in Love'; and a trio of horror works by Joe Hill (Stephen King's son): 'Strange Weather', 'NOS4A2' & 'Heart-Shaped Box'. We also have a huge collections of audio books on DVD and tape. The Horseshoe Lake Library is opened on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from noon till 5 PM. ***

Boat Ramp The Nancy and Pat Bonds Horseshoe Lake Access on the southwest corner of the lake will be temporarily closed to complete a major renovation. The access is scheduled to reopen at the beginning of June. Plans to complete a concrete ramp that two boats may launch at a time from and create an asphalt parking lot that will stretch over the existing gravel one as well as the grassy area. The Arkansas Game & Fish Commission(AG& FC) will stripe it for 30 boat parking area on the asphalt and will even have a 20-foot floating courtesy dock to help anglers launch and load their boats. The AG& FC realizes the timing of the temporary closure is coming at a time when many boaters will be wanting to launch, however the end product will be worth the temporary inconvenience.
