Elmore back in Russia
AWM coach trying to spread game overseas
WM School District With apologies to the Beatles' White Album, West Memphis football coach Billy Elmore is Back in the USSR.
Well, not exactly the USSR anymore…but it's Russia.
Elmore has spent this week in Russia to deliver training and best practices to youth football players in that country. Hundreds of boys and girls age 12-15 as well as women's tackle football players are participating in the training.
Elmore, the second-year Blue Devil head coach, is a master trainer for USA Football's Heads Up program.
The trip marks the first time for the State Department and USA Football to bring football overseas, delivering the fun of America's favorite sport, American Culture and values.
The clinic's curriculum is being led by Elmore and it includes offensive and defensive philosophy, game planning, film study and youth football program.
More than 70 countries spanning six continents play football through organized youth and adult programs.
Elmore led the Blue Devils to the Class 7A state playoffs in 2015 after a twoyear absence from the postseason.
