ASU Mid- South hosts DeltaARTS, Mid- South Health Systems display
DeltaARTS Mid-South Health Systems and Arkansas State University Mid-South celebrated a successful opening for their collaborative exhibit, “Art & Soul III,” on Feb. 11, selling more than half of the original works of art.
Curated by DeltaARTS, “Art & Soul III” features a diverse collection of artistic subjects and media created by Mid-South Health Systems clients. Artwork is on display at ASU Mid-South through March 29.
At the opening, ASU Mid-South Chancellor Dr. Debra West spoke about the importance of collaboration in the community. DeltaARTS Executive Director Amelia Barton said in her remarks that “Art & Soul” is one of DeltaARTS' favorite events, and that artistic collaborations
like “Art &
Soul” are vital to enhancing the aesthetic value of the community.
Kathy Daniel, Art Therapist for Mid-South Health Systems, is “very pleased” with the turnout at the reception,
and the show's impact
on the artists.
“[The opening] was a very emotional time for the artists,” she said. “The selfesteem that it releases is unbelievable. This is more than a typical art show.”
To purchase any of the pieces from “Art & Soul III,” contact Brier Turner at (870)732-6260. All proceeds from artwork sales go directly to the artists.
