The Earle Music Coterie met at the Earle Baptist Church Nov. 17 for the Annual Parade of American Music Program presented by Rev. Stacie Grubbs.

Janis Lancaster presided and led the reading of the club collect. She also led the group singing “America The Beautiful” accompanied by Jane Speed. Mary Jo Staggs gave the story of the patriotic song. Sue Ann Elms gave was in charge of the poetry moment and read “Fall Morning” taken from the book “Thoughts From Along Life’s Journey” written by the late James R. Wilson. Rev. Wilson was formerly from Earle.

Rev. Grubbs program was entitled “The Wonders of John Williams.” She told about his life and played recorded music composed by him including “America, The Dream Goes On,” “The March From Super Mom,” “The March, Raiders of the Last Ark,” “Theme For Sunday Night Football, Liberty Fanfare” and “Hoedown.”

The meeting closed with the group singing “Eternal Father, Strong to save.”

Other members present were Allison Bird, Elleene Holloway, Donna Hooker, Ken Lancaster, Christine Littlejohn, Dot McKinney and Frankie Swindle.

Visitors were Coretta and Jamayia Allen and Laura Pritchard.

Co-hosts were Jimmie Barham, Sue Ann Elms and Eric Elms.

The next meeting will be the Christmas musical held at the First United Methodist Church Dec. 18 at 5 p.m.

Everyone is invited to attend.

*** Laurie and Clayton Adams, Hailee and Bella Newingham, Adria Roberts, Tammy Soto, Amy Soto, Cassie Soto, Cassandra Soto, Nicole Peer, Preston Peer, Anna Gibson, Michelle Mc-Cormick, Laurie Hoselton and Tonya Moore were at Hope Church in Memphis Nov. 17 where they attended the Casting Crowns Concert.

*** The 39er’s of the Earle Baptist Church had dinner at Andreas Pizza in Marion Nov. 18.

Included were Mary Frances and Edmon Davis, Kay and Rev. Bill Watt, Frankie Swindle, Janis Lancaster, Christine Littlejohn, Ken Lancaster, Sue Ann Elms, Vickey and Rev. Tony Wells, church pastor and chairman of the group. *** The theme for the Christmas Parade to be held in Earle Dec. 3 at 2:00 is “A White Christmas.”

The Annual Open House will be held at the Crittenden County Museum Dec. 4 from 2 to 4 p.m. A chorus will sing Christmas Carols and refreshments will be provided by the Crittenden County Red Hat Society.
