Players of the Week — Sept. 12, 2016 Golf – CONNER CATT

Connor is a junior and was a medalist recently when Marion beat West Memphis.

He has won our in-team coin challenge twice and has medaled multiple times this season. He is a serious player who practices with purpose. His knowledge of the game, integrity in competition, and nerves of steel make him an excellent golfer and role model for the entire team.

Volleyball’s Player of the Week. Annalee’s play helped lead Marion to wins over West Memphis and Blytheville last week. She also helped lead her team to the River City Classis Championship this past weekend.

Players of the Week — Sept. 19, 2016 Tennis – MORGAN WHITED

Coach Collin Wood Player of the Week: Morgan Whited is in the 10th grade and plays girls singles in tennis.

'Morgan Whited has won her matches against Jonesboro, Searcy, and Mountain Home.

She is the epitome of what an athlete should strive to be: hardworking, talented, and shows great sportsmanship.'

Coach Beasley Player of the Week: Hope Phipps is a Senior Volleyball player.

“Without Hope's defense, serve, and serve receive, we would not have gotten two hard fought victories last week against 6A Jonesboro and 5A Nettleton.” 36 for 37 serving with 8 aces, 22 points scored on her serve, 5 assists, 48+ digs.

Cross Country – GARY AUSTIN

Coach Smith Player of the Week: Gary Austin is a Senior Cross Country Runner, top cross country runner for Marion for the past 2 years.

“Last week Gary competed in the Josh Park Memorial Cross Country Invitational in Heber Springs and placed 10th overall with a time of 18:26 for the 5,000 meter course. His season best time is 17:37.”
