It’s OK not to cater to fringe, radical bullies
We find it interesting that we have the Christians, the atheists and the Satan worshipers all competing for prime real estate at the state Capitol while Secretary of State Mark Martin is trying to making absolutely sure the letter of the law is being followed in this process.
Before going into the current developments, let us point out the main purpose, and in our opinion, the only intention of these satin worshipers and these shallow minded atheists is simply to prevent Christians from being able to display the Ten Commandments monument.
We believe these radical minority elements have absolutely no interest in raising the thousands upon thousands of dollars to make their point in Little Rock, Arkansas, and blackmailing spineless politicians from granting permission to worthwhile organization sincerely wanting to display what the majority of us strongly believe in and try to follow.
And, by the way, we feel the majority of Arkansans would have absolutely no objection to paving the way for a monument to Gold Star Families proposed by the Marine Corps League and Arkansas Run for the Fallen. There comes a point in time when we say to one another, “enough is enough,” and a line must be drawn in the sand to let these minority bullies know their intimidation and threats are clearly meaningless.
And, as far as the liberal and radical American Civil Liberties Union’s threat of a lawsuit if any religious monuments are build on Capitol grounds let’s make it clear to our elected representatives and government bureaucrats of “all the people” by sending them the message clear message to go for it.
So then, how is our Secretary of State handling this ridiculously controversial situation? It all begins by members of a state commission assigned to committees to study the aesthetics of the proposed monuments. Bear in mind, state lawmakers have already approved a plan to honor the Ten Commandments as well as private proposals that include this devil worshippers ridiculous goat statue and a skeptic group’s ridiculous desire for a brick wall.
Secretary of State Martin, the chairman of this Capitol Arts and Grounds Commission, split the commissioners into two groups to study the three proposals by religious and skeptic groups, as well as an unrelated request for a monument honoring the families of fallen servicemen.
Martin explained each subcommittee will review two proposals and take public comments before reporting its findings to the full commission.
It will be at that point, we’re told, the full commission will be responsible for whether or not any of the proposals will be approved.
The one bright spot in all this, only the Ten Commandments monument has taken that latter step, receiving approval from 99 lawmakers in both chambers last year.
As most of us know that after Act 1231, sponsored by state Sen. Jason Rapert, R-Bigelow, that requires the commission to find a suitable spot for the Ten Commandments monument was passed this New Yorkbased Satanic Temple bunch announced plans for a ridiculous 8.5-foot-tall bronze statue of Baphomet. Then, it wasn’t long after that the Saline Atheist & Skeptic Society came out of the woodwork saying they want an entire brick wall to be constructed in front of both the Ten Commandments as well as this hideous statute of Baphomet.
This situation gets even better in that the liberal ACLU says it will file a lawsuit if either the Ten Commandments or the Satanists’’ statute is approved, saying a threat of litigation will surely put the skids on this whole thing.
The only comment we can say more about this situation at this point is, God help this commission.
BIBLE VERSE
My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and hide my commandments with thee; So that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom, and apply thine heart to understanding; Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding; If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures; Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God.
