Bunko

The Horseshoe Lake Ladies Bunko group resumed playing in September, with hostess, Jeanine Stewart. Most Big Bunko’s was rolled by Lethia Jo Cupples, who also had high score for the evening. Low score went to Pat Walters and Traveler’s pillow was Debby Allison. The ladies enjoyed Taco Salad and Chocolate Éclair Cake.

Town Meeting

Report from Water Operator, Ricky Scarbrough, water samples good and no problems anywhere else. Report from Fire Chief, Billy Thomen, was FEMA Audit good and Pancake Breakfast listed below. No report available from Code Enforcement Officer, Vince McDermott, since he was at Surf Club meeting occurring at the same time. Under old business there will be no speed breaker placed on Lakeview Drive at this time. At this time city attorney was investigating moving mobile home from one location to another, but other arrangements have been made. Eastside Water will no longer collect fire dues, they will have to be billed by Horseshoe Lake Fire Department individually. Time was allotted for school board candidates to speak.

Pancake Breakfast

Horseshoe Lake Volunteer Fire Department will hold a Pancake Breakfast on Sept. 24. It will be from 7 to 9 a.m. at the Fire Station on Lake Estates Dr., plates are $5 each.
