Ol’ Baphomet rears his ugly head again
Back last year, Arkansas Sen. Jason Rapert, RBigelow, took it upon himself to sponsor legislation allowing a Ten Commandments monument to be placed on state Capitol grounds at private expense.
What’s more, to make sure his efforts weren’t in vain, Sen. Rapert went on to create a GoFundMe account that has collected over $26,000 for the project.
Now we hear the American History and Heritage Foundation has asked for approval from the Secretary of State’s Office to place a granite monument engraved with the Ten Commandments somewhere on the Capitol grounds, preferably on the south side of the Capitol building.
It seems that any time something positive like this rolls around there is always someone, some group or something that makes every effort to create an issue.
Sen. Rapert’s endeavors are certainly no exception as we now see, and expected, this asinine group out of Salem, Mass.,submitting an application again asking for approval to place a statue of Baphomet, “a goatheaded, angel-winged, androgynous creature” on the Capitol grounds.
If that wasn’t bad enough, this group calling itself The Satanic Temple is wanting this ridiculous display positioned within 20 feet to the right or left of the proposed Ten Commandments monument or within one foot “directly in front of” the proposed Ten Commandments monument.
We’ve made our thoughts be known about this outlandish bunch before when, in 2014 The Satanic Temple applied for permission to place this outlandish statue of Baphomet on the grounds of Oklahoma’s state Capitol, where a Ten Commandments monument had been placed in 2012 following the passage of legislation similar to Rapert’s. Sadly, last June, the Oklahoma Supreme Court, ruled that the monument violated a provision in that state’s constitution prohibiting the use of public property to support any religious denomination. The monument was moved to the property of a conservative think tank, and The Satanic Temple withdrew its application. We just wonder just how many Arkansans really understand exactly what this sickening group of idiots believe in. Well, for those who are wondering, the Satanic Temple, based in Salem, says on its website its mission is “to encourage benevolence and empathy among all people, reject tyrannical authority, advocate practical common sense and justice, and be directed by the human conscience to undertake noble pursuits guided by the individual will.”
Being the politician that he is, Rapert’s said The Satanic Temple has the right to submit its application, but said he considers the application “frivolous” and “a waste of everyone’s time.”
He went on to say the group’s suggestion that the statue of Baphomet be placed within one foot directly in front of the proposed Ten Commandments monument shows that it is simply seeking to “disrupt” the monument.
Seems Rapert is of the belief that this group of people aren’t serious and all they want is to call attention to themselves. Nevertheless, Rapert would be wise not to actually believe these devil worshipers aren’t serious.
