WM golf rips Rivercrest on the links

WM School District The West Memphis Blue Devil golfers easily defeated Rivercrest in a nine-hole match Monday at Meadowbrook Country Club.

Using their junior varsity boys, the Blue Devils disposed of the Clts 147-190 behind a team-leading 47 from senior Hayden Spears. Other Blue Devil scores included sophomore Carlson Bennage with a 48 while junior Kaiden Holt fired a 49. Other scores included a 55 from Trevor Pulliam and a 54 from Brunson Langston.

Rivercrest was led by Joseph Robertson's 59 while Alex Poag shot 65 and Ethan Glenn carded a 66.

The top two Blue Devil varsity golfers competed for the junior varsity and they didn't disappoint. Leftswinging senior Parker Jennings shot even-par 35 while fellow senior Tyler Jones fired a 39.

Other JV scores included Drew Griffin with a 55, Tanner Ramsey and Wallace Crain with a pair of 57s and Wayne Kuykendall with a 61.

The Lady Devils also posted a victory over Rivercrest with Jordan Young leading the way with a 50 while Ashton Hickman shot 53. Other West Memphis girls scores included Kennedy McClanahan with a 57, Emma Fraley at 65 and Anna Foster a 69.
