Happy Hour Club The Happy Hour Club met at the First United Methodist Church last Monday. Becky Knapp, president, presided. The tables were decorated for Valentines day. The group sang “Love Lifted Me” led by Rev. Tony Wells and accompanied by Alex Turner. Rev. Wells gave the devotional and read First Corinthians 13: 1-13. He also read “God’s Box of Chocolates.” Door prizes were won by Sue Dorman, Dot McKinney and Sue Ann Elms. LouisLancasterandJoanna McLamore were recognized as having recent birthdays. Others present were Jane Speed, Adria Roberts, Vickey Wells, Faye Thompson, Jimmie Barham, J. W. Ellis, Jean Allensworth, Doris Gately, Dean Ryan, Frankie Smith, Tammy Dunn, Laura Pritchard, Janis Lancaster and Minnie McCain. *** 39er’s Dine at Veano’s The 39er’s of the Earle Baptist Church had dinner at Veano’s in Marion January 24. Those present were Charlene and Elbert Person, Kay and Rev. Bill Watt, Frankie Swindle, Adria and Mark Roberts, Alvalu and Rickey Sides, Susie and Mike Root, Becky and Larry Miller, Anga and Rickey Turner, Alex and Caleb Turner, Tanya Pate, Christine Littlejohn, Vickey and Rev. Tony Wells, co-chairman of the group and Sue Ann Elms. *** Birthday Celebration Charlotte Brooks was honored for her birthday with dinner guests in her home January 27. Included was Cathy Brooks of Cordova, Tennessee, Vernon and Judy Brooks of Harbor Town in Memphis, Emily Murphy and son David of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. *** It’s a Boy! Ko and Justin Lowery of Little Rock are parents of their first child, a boy, born January 31 at University Hospital in Little Rock. He weighed 2 1/2 pounds and was 14 inches long. Grandparents are Shari Gross and Brian Lowery of Memphis, Tennessee, great grandparents are Becky and Larry Miller of West Memphis and Christine Littlejohn is great-great grandmother. His name isWilliam Oliver.
