I’m also blessed to live in an area, the Lakes of Richland, that receives excellent delivery service from the Times delivery person. Our paper is always delivered on time, rolled & secured with a rubber band so it won’t blow all over the yard & on rainy days put in a plastic bag. Sorry I don’t know the delivery person’s name. Now the Commercial Appeal is just the opposite. Last year, 2018, I missed a paper 28 times. This year hasn’t started much better. Last week I did not get a paper on January 8, 10, or 12. Good job Times! ! ! [Editor’s Note: It’s nice to know we ’re getting it right at least some of the time, so thanks for sending this in. We do have some very good carriers, and we’re working to have the same level off service with every one of our subscribers as you have. On a slightly related note, you may have seen the little survey we ’re running in the paper on what you, our readers, would like to see more (or less) of in the Times. We ’re open to any ideas that will raise the interest of our current readers and pique the interest of new readers and subscribers. Thanks!] What is the great mayor of Marion and The P.D. Covering up now?

I did not know about canceling their paper at the PD in Marion. I was talking about the Channel 3 and Channel 5 News role at the PD in Marion last Friday when they caught doing that “No No” that’s the cover up the Mayor and Chief were doing in the dept. [Editor’s Note: While everyone, including myself, was quick to yell “Cover Up!” after the city and the MPD put a kibosh on releasing information about the ongoing investigation, it actually appears that the proper steps are being taken, and releasing information prematurely isn't really the right call. I was concerned that there was no official announcement about the investigation for several days, but Chief Kelley did put out a statement that served the purpose of acknowledging the investigation without details that have not been thoroughly confirmed and investigated. As much as we live in an “I want it now” world, there are some things that take time to sort out.

Now, I will say that the city has had a policy in recent years of not sharing other information, particularly about crime in the city, and I will continue to take that position. There are times when the public is entitled to information and there are times when they are not, no matter how much “we the taxpayers” think we should be told everything] I am a 64 year old female who works in downtown Memphis. This morning, at 6:30, as I was approaching the AR/TN bridge I struck some sort of trash on the road, which instantly blew a tire! I had just passed another vehicle which was on the side of the road with their flashers on also. Shortly afterwards, I did see blue lights at the car behind me!!

I JUST WANT TO THANK THE TWO ARKANSAS STATE TROOPER CARS THAT DROVE RIGHT PAST ME AND DID NOT STOP TO SEE IF I WAS OK OR NEEDED ASSISTANCE!!!! GREAT JOB AT DOING NOTHING!!!!

[Editor’s Note: Well, you got me… I was reading this and my eyes kept sort of creeping along ahead and I was thinking you were going to tell me how the State Troopers helped you in your time of need… AND THEN THEY DIDN’T HELP YOU!!! SORRY FOR YOUR MISFORTUNE!!!] I am a bad man I don’t have right I been shot five times I hurt all the time pot help me and one more thing. Mike Allen is a good man he treats me like a man as long as I obey the law he doesn’t look down on me because I am black thanks Mr Allen [Editor’s Note: There might be a little being lost in translation here, but from what I can gather, you are a proponent for the use of medical marijuana. I’ve sort of softened my stance on medical marijuana over the past couple of years.

My original stance was that there were plenty of legal alternatives to medicating with pot, but especially in light of the ongoing opioid addiction crisis, using medical marijuana seems like as good an alternative to those highly-addictive drugs. It also would appear that you are a fan of Sheriff Mike Allen, even if you are a “bad man.” And I agree with you, if you obey the law, things go a lot easier.

Just think about the couple that got shot last week after running over that police officer. I hate to see anyone die, even if they are “bad people,” but if you are using a car as a weapon and using that weapon on a police officer, you have to expect severe consequences.

What were the other officers supposed to do? Ask them to pull over? I won’t say they “deserved” to get shot, but I would love to hear the alternative given the situation those officers were in]
