Here’s what everyone is talking about this week:

The Times.

A few things to make u think. The people want to know why the President gave us fake NAACP cards and Where does the Crittenden County NAACP stand? In November of last year the CcNAACP was suppose to hold an election wondering why lets investigate inquiring minds want to know is there any official President of the NAACP the answer is no there was no election how could there be I will make this short. Was the election advertised in the news paper no, There was no election because a complaint was given to the national office because the people received Fake membership cards from the President at that time Shabaka Africa and several Article 10 violations of the bylaws. How could a person so-called help a community at the same time take the community they claim to serve to court seem hypocritical. (the National office is the only one that can hire an attorney) With that being said at the moment there is no official officers there was no Election so there is no President or any officers sad day for Crittenden NAACP as we wait on a decision from the, national office since they are the only ones that can hire an attorney just a few things to make U THINK there will be a Facebook live broadcast stay tuned to Kyle Watkins and the Crittenden County justice Commission to bring justice to Crittenden County what is in the dark will always come to light the laws of Nature. [Editor’s Note: I typically just steer dear of the local NAACP drama.

It's pretty much been nonstop since 2010, when Willie Catha Jones was arrested is a completely trumped-up deal regarding the election of officers and claims of stolen money. Since then, the group has lost its charter, regained its charter, won a settlement with the state branch, split over a dispute over the motley from the settlement. I appreciate what the NAACP stands for, but our local bunch doesn’t seem to be focused too much on those ideals. They’ve said some pretty bad things about us, so I don’t really feel too obligated give them a lot of press] Due to recent articles in the Evening Times making reference to having issues with the Marion Police Department in regards to being unable to obtain information as stated in the paper “for decades” about crime not being reported to the citizens/ Eveiling Times. I feel as though I would like to remind the powers that be at the paper that if they would check the archives of the paper, they should find plenty of correspondence between the Marion Police Department and the Evening Times as while I was employed by the Marion Police Department, it was part of my job to report ANY and ALL reports every morning after all the reports were gone over and discussed and those reports needing further investigation were assigned to the different Detectives working. All this information was collected/typed up and sent in e-mail form to the Evening Times and normally this information was at one time printed in the paper I believe that was delivered on Friday. Any major crime that was reported was by no means left out of any e-mail to the paper, if any suspect information etc was also reported unless reporting such information would compromise the successful completion of the investigation, ie, arrest(s) of any possible suspects. Respectfully submitted: Retired Assistant Chief of Police Gerald Martin… I might also add that any information that could be shared with the different news papers and TV stations in Memphis, Jonesboro and the Little Rock News Media was also included in these e-mails. [Editor’s Note: Thank you from taking time from your well-deserved retirement to chime in on this issue. I became editor in April of 2013 and you retired only a few months after that if I remember correctly, and while I typically covered West Memphis news at a reporter, I did work with you on a few stories. Now, I can’t attest to “decades” of history between the Times and the MPD, but I can attest to the last four-plus years of my own experience and I assure you it has been very difficult at times to get information from the city and the police department when it comes to anything negative. And while I can appreciate wanting to keep investigation details quiet about ongoing investigations, at some point there’s an obligation to keep the public informed about crime in the city]
