Memphis Tigers fall to Western Kentucky 51- 31

The Memphis Tigers (8-5 overall) lost to the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers (113) in last night’s Boca Raton Bowl 51-31.
The Tigers gained the lead early when, on the team’s second possesion, Memphis quarterback Riley Ferguson found freshman reciever Tony Pollard for a 45-yard score. However, a 28-10 run by Western Kentucky gave the Hilltoppers a comfortable 11 point lead at the half.
The Tigers defense continued to struggle against the Hilltoppers offense and Memphis’ offense did the team no favors by turning the ball over four times in the second half.
The Hilltoppers were carried to thier third consecutive bowl victory by running back Anthony Wales.
Wales tore through the Tigers for 245 yards and 3 scores on the ground.
Western Kentucky quarterback Mike White also looked impressive, throwing for 336 yards and 3 scores.
Ferguson led the Tigers with 372 passing yards and 4 touchdowns with 3 of those touchdowns hauled in by Anthony Miller who led the Tigers in recieving with 151 yards.
