www.riverkings.com SOUTHAVEN, Miss. The Mississippi RiverKings announced that they will donate a portion of ticket sales from Saturday night's game against the Pensacola Ice Flyers to recovery and rebuilding efforts in the Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge and Sevierville areas after massive wildfires in the area have displaced thousands.
'On behalf of the entire RiverKings organization, our thoughts and prayers are with those affected by the fires in the Smoky Mountains,' RiverKings General Manager David Schmoll said. 'Through this event, we hope to do our part to help our neighbors in East Tennessee as they continue to battle the wildfires and also as they begin the recovery and rebuilding process.'
For every ticket purchased to the team's Saturday, December 3 game, the RiverKings will donate three dollars to the Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, Sevierville Emergency Response Fund at the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee. Grants from the Fund will be made to nonprofits providing assistance both immediate and long term.
The RiverKings will also take additional donations during home games on December 3 and December 9. Those who cannot attend, but would like to make a donation, can donate to the Emergency Resonse Fund at www.cfmt.org.
Fans may purchase tickets online at Ticketmaster.com or in-person at the Landers Center Box Office. Groups of 10 or more should call the RiverKings Front Office at 662-342-1755 to receive $2 off per ticket.
