Hogs’Williams III is SEC’s Co-Offensive Player of Week
UA Media Relations BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Highlighted by a 41-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter, Arkansas sophomore running back Rawleigh Williams III ran for 148 yards in Arkansas’ win over No. 10 Florida and on Monday was named the SEC’s Co-Offensive PIayer of the Week, announced by the conference office. The only player to be named SEC Offensive Player of the Week twice this season, Williams’ 148 yards on the ground were the most by a single payer against the Gators’ 10thranked run defense this season while his 41-yard touchdown run that sealed the 31-10 win was the longest TD run of his career. He also added a touchdown in the first quarter that gave Arkansas a 140 lead.
With Williams’ two SEC Offensive Player of the Week honors and quarterback Austin Allen’s after the win at TCU, Arkansas is the only program to win the award three times this season. Williams is the first Razorback to win SEC Offensive Player of the Week multiple times in the same season since Tyler Wilson in 2011.
Williams fifth 100-yard rushing performance of the season came on 26 carries and included six runs that resulted in a first down and four that went for 10 yards or more. Arkansas improved to 5-0 this season and 6-0 all-time when Williams break the 100yard plateau on the ground. He also added two receptions for 22 yards.
A native of Dallas, Williams ranks second in the SEC with 955 rushing yards, good for 20th nationally. He leads the SEC with 179 carries on the year and is second in total first downs with 49, including 44 on the ground.
