Marion sophomore returns to postseason

Sports Editor Marion sophomore tennis player Morgan Whited qualified for the state tournament in 2016.

Whited, a three-sport athlete for the Patriots, beat Searcy’s Formel 6-1 and 6-4 in the opening round of the state playoffs, before losing to Playter from Jonesboro by scores of 6-0 and 6-1.

Her run at states was ended by Provence, also from Searcy, in an 8-4 thriller.

Whited also qualified for the state tournament last season as a freshman.
