The Red Hat Society met at Andreas Pizza in Marion September 24. Vickey Wells of Earle and Minnie McCain of Parkin were co-hosts.
The tables were covered with black cloths and decorated with paper weights. Those present helped themselves to a variety of candy that was scattered up and down the tables.
Favors were colorful bags holding a variety of surprises.
Ann Pickering-Philyaw of Earle was serenaded with the Kazoos in recognition of her recent birthday.
Others present were Polly O’Neil and Gerry Clark of West Memphis, Mary Ann Pollard of Marion, Christine Littlejohn and Sue Ann Elms of Earle. Chris Jones of Parkin was a guest.
*** The First United Methodist Church U.M.W. hosted a hamburger supper Sept. 25. A total of 25 were present.
*** Cheryl and Michael Hood, Jenny and Rob Hood hosted their annual fish fry at the Hood Farm log cabin following the Gibson Bayou Homecoming.
One hundred guests were present from Earle, Parkin, Marion, West Memphis, Wynne, Heafer, Crawfordsville, Piggott, Paragould, Marshall, Hardy, Grand Junction, Tennessee and Memphis, Tennessee.
*** The Happy Hour Club met at the First United Methodist Church Morrison Fellowship Hall Oct. 3.
Becky Knapp, president, presided.
The tables were decorated with pumpkins, gourds and fall leaves.
Janis Lancaster gave the devotional on the “Fruits of the Spirits” taken from Galatians 5:26.
Door prize winners were Janis, J. W. Ellis and Sue Ann Elms.
Others present were Christine Littlejohn, Allison Bird, Jane Speed, Sue Dorman, Ken Lancaster, Dot McKinney, Doris Gately, Tammy Dunn, Jean Allensworth, Frankie Swindle and Adria Roberts.
*** Jane Speed, Sue Dorman, Dot McKinney and Elleene Holloway were in Memphis at Kirby Woods Retirement Home last Wednesday where they visited with Mary Cooper Morrison.
*** Cindy Dickey of Bella Vista spent the weekend recently visiting with family members in Earle.
