Attorney General’s Office holds educational events in Marion

Team holds trio of consumerfriendly gatherings

Arkansas Attorney General’s Office MARION – Arkansas Attorney General Leslie Rutledge’s Mobile Office held three educational events in Marion earlier this month.

“In 2015 my staff assisted constituents in all 75 counties with the mobile office initiative,” said Attorney General Rutledge. “This year, I am expanding our community outreach programs to bring even more educational opportunities to constituents, in their neighborhoods. I want all Arkansans to know that the Attorney General’s office is accessible to them, without having to drive to downtown Little Rock.”

During the Attorney General Mobile Office on on Thursday, Sept. 22, staff members assisted constituents with consumer-related issues in filing consumer complaints and providing information about scams, identity theft, fraud and other protections at the Marion Chamber of Commerce. During that time authorities from Crittenden County Sheriff Mike Allen’s office were on hand to collect prescription medicines, overthe- counter medicines, vitamins, pet medicines, medicated ointments and lotions, inhalers, liquid medicines in glass or leak-proof containers and medicine samples as part of a prescription drug take back event.

Also, a Child Safety Resource Booth was set up at the Woolfolk Public Library, offering resources for parents and teachers to educate children about Internet safety and other safety measures. The Attorney General’s office also provided Child ID kits, ID bracelets and more.
