WM and Marion clash on tennis court

League rivals go at it in boys and girls action

WM School District The West Memphis boys tennis team won four of seven matches against Marion Tuesday at Meadowbrook Country Club.

Sophomore Carlson Bennage shut out Marion's Jon Hester 8-0 while Blue Devil Tanner Ramsey lost 8-5 to Jose Ibanes. West Memphis' Wallace Crain shut out Reid Bunn 6-0.

In doubles, Kaiden Holt and Crain lost to T.J. Stotts and Ben Baser 9-7.

Brunson Langston and Gavin Carlson defeated Edward Smith and K.J.

Johnson 8-5. Langston and Bennage lost 8-0 to Stotts and Baser and Ramsey and Crain defeated Zech and Adams 8-1.

Marion won all eight girls matches.

In singles, West Memphis' Olivia Harrison lost to Audrey Morgan 8-6, Hannah Boozer lost 8-3 to Rachel Benson and Boozer lost 8-2 to Morgan.

In doubles, Lauren Semiche and Hannah McCall lost 8-1 to Clarie Bunn and Morgan Watson.

Bailey Merritt and Emma Fraley lost to Mallory Caldwell and Lauren Adams 8-0. Semiche and McCall lost 8-3 to Caldwell and Adams and Merritt and Fraley lost 8-1 to Bunn and Watson.
