Woolfolk Library hosts Olympic-themed party

Kids go for the gold in special events

Woolfolk Branch Librarian Woolfolk Public Library hosted an Olympic themed party on August 6th for all of our children that completed the Summer Reading Program. Outside the library were the Olympic Obstacle Course, Olympic Ring Toss and Lawn Twister. We had bowling and miniature basketball going on inside along with Olympic treats and snacks. Every child went home with a prize bag and a gold medal reaching their goal in summer reading. Congratulations to all the wonderful readers! Now that summer is coming to an end, we turn our focus to autumn. Time for football games, sweater weather and curling up with a good book! A few new releases coming this fall include “Robert B. Parker's Debt to Pay” by Reed Farrel Coleman, “Apprentice in Death” by J. D. Robb, “Home” by Harlan Coben, “Pirate” by Clive Cussler among others. Coming in Non-Fiction we have “In Such Good Company: Eleven Years of Laughter, Mayhem, and Fun in the Sandbox” by Carol Burnett and “Killing the Rising Sun: How America Vanquished World War II Japan” by Bill O'Reilly. For those of you already planning for holiday cooking, check out these new cookbooks due to arrive soon: “The Weeknight Dinner Cookbook: Simple Family-Friendly Recipes for Everyday Home Cooking” by Mary Younkin, “At the Southern Table” by Paula Deen and “Cookin' It with Kix: The Art of Celebrating and the Fun of Outdoor Cooking” by Kix Brooks from the country music duo Brooks & Dunn.

Many of our fiction books are also available in CD format. If you don't want to leave the comfort of your home or prefer electronic books, please give us a call to set you up for our eBooks. We have a large selection of eBooks in our catalog ready to check out.
