WM golf takes 7th win

Blue Devils slip three other teams in Osceola

WM School District The Academies of West Memphis boys golf team recorded win number 7 on the season last Thursday in a four-team match at Osceola.

The Blue Devils' ninehole score of 122 bested Pocahontas (131), Corning (138) and Rivercrest (173). Leading the charge for West Memphis was match medalist Parker Jennings, a senior, who carded a 37.

He was followed by senior Tyler Jones' 41, Hayden Spears' 44 and Drew Griffin's 53.

Pocahontas got a pair of 42s from Preston Massey and Jared Erwin while Elijah White had a 47 and Ethan Throesh scored 48.

Corning's low man was Seth Robinson, who shot a 43.

In girls play, the Lady Devils placed second to Pocahontas. The Lady Devils' total of 191 was off pace of Pocahontas' winning tally of 151. Corning placed third at 193 and Rivercrest was last at 196.

Ashton Hickman led the Lady Devil effort with a 62 while sophomore Kennedy McClanahan had a 63, Anna Foster was next with a 66 and Jordan Young fired a 69.
