The Red Hat Society Museum Muses met at More Than Bread restaurant in West Memphis Aug. 20 where they enjoyed a lunch of soul food.

Co-hosts were Gayle Berry of Earle and Cyndi Sanders of Marion.

Cyndi and Polly O’Neil of West Memphis were serenaded with the kazoos for having August birthdays.

Janis Lancaster of Earle won the prize in a game conducted by Cyndi.

Favors were Solar Dancers, lotion, candy and tissues.

Others present were Nancy LaFerney and Jean Burns of West Memphis, Vickey Wells, Ann Pickering-Philyaw, Christine Littlejohn and Sue Ann Elms of Earle, Mary Ann Pollard, Sherry Lovelady and Clara Miller, Queen Mom of Marion.

*** A ‘Lock In for Kids’ was held at the First Assembly of God church Aug. 12 from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.

The seventeen children attending played flashlight tag, Hungry Hippo Life Style, watched a movie, had a Bible scripture scavenger hunt, praise and worship and a devotional.

They enjoyed pizza, chips, pop corn, candy and other snacks.

Chaperones were Amy Soto, Tammy Soto, Tracy and John Buford, Nicole and Lee Peer, Erica Peer and Ashley Cox.

Clayton Adams is church pastor.

*** The 39ers of the Earle Baptist Church had dinner at Fusion in West Memphis Aug. 18.

Included were Charlene and Elbert Person, Janis Lancaster, Ken Lancaster, Kay and Rev. Bill Watt, Tanya Pate, Jean Burns, Eric Elms, Sue Ann Elms, Vickey Wells and Rev. Tony Wells, chairperson of the group and church pastor and Doug Manchester.

*** Debbie and Galen Maxwell spent several days in Hot Springs recently.

*** Ellen and Sam Holloway spent the weekend in Mountain View. *** Doris Gately joined a group of 54 members of The Good Life Club for a nine day trip to Austria, Germany and Switzerland recently.

They flew into Zurich, Switzerland and out of Munich, Germany.

They enjoyed seeing were Mozart was born in Salzburg, touring Mirabel Gardens where “The Sound of Music” was filmed, touring various towns and cities, visiting castles and taking a gondola ride up Pilatus Mountain in Luzern, Switzerland and riding down on the Switzerland Cog Hill Railroad train.

Doris’ travel companion was her sister, Donna Moore of Clinton.
