The Academies of West Memphis golf team got its season underway last Thursday with an 18-hole triangular match at the Jonesboro Country Club.
The Blue Devil boys finished second with a 361 total, behind Jonesboro's 297 and just ahead of Wynne's 388.
Senior Parker Jennings fired a 79 to capture team medalist honors while fellow senior Tyler Jones carded a solid 83. Other West Memphis boys scores included sophomore Carlson Bennage with a 99 and Hayden Spears and Kaiden Holt with a pair of 100s.
Jonesboro's Brett Daughdrill was the match medalist with a 71 while teammates Will Gibson and Chandler Copeland each scored 74.
Competing in the junior varsity match for West Memphis were Trevor Pulliam, Brunson Langston, Tanner Ramsey, Drew Griffin, Wallace Crain and Austin Beier.
In the girls match, Jonesboro took first place with a team score of 260 while Wynne totaled 332 and West Memphis had a 390.
West Memphis' top scores came from Kennedy McClanahan, Anna Foster, Ashtan Hickman and Emma Fraley.
The Blue Devil golfers will play their first home match of the season today at Meadowbrook Country Club.
