Avondale Elementary set for ‘Kindergarten Kamp’

Registration underway for new students

www.msd3.org Registration for Kindergarten and First Grade at Avondale Elementary began on Monday, and continues through Aug. 15, the first day of school. Registration hours will be 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday. Those students who are fully registered for Kindergarten are invited to participate in Avondale’s “Kindergarten Kamp’ that will take place on Thursday, Aug. 4, from 4 to 6 p.m.

Those students who attend one of these sessions will receive a book bag with school supplies included. Children must be 5 years of age before August 1st to register for Kindergarten. You will need the following five documents in order to register: 1. proof of age (child’s birth certificate) 2. child’s immunization records 3. child’s social security card 4. proof of a well-child physical 5. proof of residence in Marion School District (must be current) * rent receipt * mortgage statement * utility bill or Marion water bill (must have physical address and parent’s name on the proof of residence) First Grade students will need the same documents as Kindergarten students, with the exception of a physical.
