The community of Edmondson will be putting on a special back-to-school gettogether for children in that area this weekend.

The Back-to-School Giveaway and Get Set, Get Ready to Learn Jamboree will be held at the West Memphis Learning Center in the cafeteria, located at 201 South B.J. Taylor St., in Edmondson.

The event will feature food, fun and games, with a special message from Pastor Jerry Faggett of New Bethel M.B. Church in Proctor.

School supplies will be given away on a first-come, first-served basis, while supplies last.

Life Ministries Christian Center, located at 904 E. Broadway, in West Memphis, is hosting a Back to School Bash on Saturday, Aug. 6, from 9 a.m. until 12 noon.

There will be a games, music, bouncer, lunch, free basic school supplies, and 200 backpacks will be given away to the first 200 kids.

Please bring a friend and lots of energy!
