Deontae Mitchell, former Boys & Girls Club member and former West Memphis Blue Devil, is completing his internship for Henderson State University this summer at the Boys & Girls Clubs. As part of his internship he had to have a special project. He chose to do a free football camp for club members and other youth in the community. Along with help from his former Blue Devil teammates and other Blue Devil Alumni, he hosted the 'Once a Blue Devil, Always a Blue Devil' football camp. The camp was hosted at Worthington Park July 25-26. Campers learned proper stretching, conditioning drills, and position help from former Blue Devils Deontae Mitchell, Quintin Sparkmon, Toddra Pamplin, Aaron Collins, Stephon Austin, Zack Moore and others. Each camper received a free t-shirt and was provided lunch each day. Deontae was excited to give back to his Club and community. Deontae will serve as a volunteer assistant coach with East Jr. High this football season.
